This course will present self defense options that are street-tested and court proven to keep you safe and out of jail. Instruction will include an overview of applicable Ohio specific laws related to self defense, the Castle Doctrine and deadly force with emphasis on when you can and cannot use such force. This course will also address how you can mentally, physically and emotionally prepare for a deadly force encounter. Advice on what to say and do immediately following such incidents and how to win in court will also be presented.
This course will be taught by Dave Williams who is a retired Dayton Police Lieutenant who was personally involved in multiple gunfights while on the job and who has investigated many shootings in his career. He is also a Medal of Valor recipient. Dave is also a well known and widely respected NRA Training Counselor, OPOTA Master Instructor and Academy Commander.
